Just thought I'd post about that classic summertime eating activity: the Picnic. More specifically, a French Picnic. Us Brits now how to throw a good picnic; triangle sandwiches, plastic plates, scotch eggs, and fizzy pop. The French do things differently, they always do.
Up in Lindarets there seems to be an abundance of Picnic tables. I remember when I was a lad, we used to use a nice tartan patterned rug, both to sit on and as a kind of table cloth. The French, however, prefer a Picnic table. If there isn't one there, they always seem to have brought their own with them, along with a pretty table cloth. Add to that lots of bread, cheese, ham and other French delights that you might expect to see.
In other unrelated news: The trails are getting back into shape again. This whole past week the Chatel crew have been swinging spades and chopping up braking bumps. The Serma crew from Avoriaz have also been out and about making sure everything is in the right place.
The weather has generally been on the brighter side of things. Over the last 5 days or so we have seen some brilliant blue skies and hot sun, with today being the cloudiest of them, but still relatively dry.
No photos today I'm afraid. I'm going to go snapping tomorrow to give you something to look at next time. Ciao for now.
