It's Friday afternoon, the sun is shining and here at MMM it's been a good week. It started off with blue skies and sun for the Passportes at the weekend, which was a great success with at least 5000 riders attending. The first half of the week was a bit slow for us up in Lindarets, there was sun and a bit of rain. Thursday and Friday brought more sun and therefore more riders over this way. The tracks dried up nicely and were running well.
I went over to the Chatel side today, the Mountain Style contest is nearly here, so things are being set-up and the riders are getting in a bit of pre-practice. It looks like they have made a few tweaks to the course here and there. It all kicks off tomorrow, so if you want to see some crazy dudes doing mental stuff on bikes, go have a look.
I rode back home down Super Morzine, where I bumped into Jean-Noel and his team, continuing work on Hattok (black run). They have now re-shaped the road gap kicker, boxing it in so it holds it shape. They were starting work on the berm just after the gap and ironing out some of the bumps. A bit further down where it crosses the next fireroad they had built an up and over boardwalk to get over the fence. It seemed a little bit odd, but was quite fun. I rode DA trail (red run) yesterday and that has bedded in nicely. Some of the corners may need a little more work, but the trail as a whole flows a lot better. Run of the Mill was the last track for me today and yesterday. As always, it's fast, rooty and dry. When you get into the flow down there, it really brings a smile to your face.
On a different note, at our preferred Lindarets cafe Mamo's, were some classic car enthusiasts having a coffee. They had turned up in 4 Renault Alpine rally cars. Very nice. Here are some photos of the cars there today, including a lovely Morgan:
The proprietors Nathalie and Julian are hosting a coffee morning for them on Sunday morning at 11am, with 46 of their friends cars. Looks like Mamo's cafe is the place to be. If you are into cars why not ride over to Lindarets and have a look!
On a final note, if you pop by with a broken bike, you'll be pleased to know that you can now read a copy of Yodel Magazine while you wait for it to be repaired. That's all for now. We'll try and get over to the Mountain Style tomorrow or Sunday and give you an update on Monday.
